Linda Sue Mercer, of Stratford, Oklahoma, was born March 19, 1946, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Dee and Gladys Griffith. She passed away June 9, 2022, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Linda grew up in the Paoli area and graduated from Paoli High School. She married Jerry Mercer on June 4, 1964, in Stratford, where they made their home and raised their family. She had worked in a cabinet and furniture shop and also, Tel-Star restaurant in Pauls Valley, and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; sisters, Louise McDaniel and Joy Woodward; and brothers, Bill and Junior Griffith.
She is survived by her son, Joel Mercer and wife, Cynthia, of Milburn, Oklahoma; daughter, Jenny Mercer, of Stratford; brothers, Earl Ray and Ronnie Griffith; four grandchildren, Brennan, Matthew, Zachary, and McKaelynn; and six great-grandchildren, Isis, Lillie, Vaughn, Amaya, Jasper, and Emmerie.
Serving as pallbearers were Ronnie Griffith, Joel Mercer, Dylan Stafford, DeWayne Griffith, J.L. Carter, and Todd Essary.
Services were held Saturday, June 11, 2022, in DeArman/Pickard Funeral Home Chapel, Stratford, Oklahoma, with Brock Barrett officiating. Burial followed in Corley Cemetery, south of Stratford on Hwy 177.
