JOHNNIE MACK GRIMES

Johnnie Mack Grimes, of Katie, Oklahoma, was born to Roy H. and Juanita Bell (Grumbles) Grimes on October 15, 1937, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on April 20, 2022, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years.

Johnnie Mack grew up and attended school at Katie, Oklahoma. He graduated from Elmore City High School in 1956. Johnnie Mack married LaCoretta Young June 16, 1957, in Gainesville, Texas. Together they made their home in Katie. He worked as a manager for Wacker’s in Pauls Valley, Durant and Kilgore, Texas. He also worked at SORC in maintenance for many years. Johnnie Mack farmed and ranched all of his life and enjoyed time spent on the farm and with family. He was also his wife’s caregiver until her passing in 2011.

Mr. Grimes is survived by two daughters, Reena Chapman and her husband, David, of Elmore City, Oklahoma, and Jonnie McFadden and her husband, Terry, of Elmore City, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Jared Chapman and wife, Mandy, and Chad McFadden and wife, Lacey; two granddaughters, Erin Chapman and Natalie Faucett and husband, Jake; seven great-grandchildren, Evan Faucett, Emma Faucett, Cayden Chapman, Carsen Chapman, Parker McFadden, Bennett McFadden, and Griffin McFadden; plus a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by his wife, LaCoretta Grimes in 2011; his parents, Roy H. and Juanita Grimes; brother, Roy Joe Grimes; cousin, Doyle Doughty.

Funeral services were held April 25, 2022, at the Church of Christ in Elmore City, Oklahoma, with Mr. Joe Terrell officiating. Interment was in the Katie Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
