Jo Ann Adams of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Claude Elvin and Dalsie Rhea (Oller) Brewer on May 18, 1930, and passed from this life on March 21, 2022, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.
Jo Ann grew up and attended school in Elmore City, Oklahoma. On October 9, 1948, she married William Vernon Adams at the First United Methodist Church in Maysville, Oklahoma. Jo Ann worked as a floor supervisor for SORC and was a homemaker. In her spare time, Jo Ann was an active member of the Elmore City First United Methodist Church and the Antioch ABC Oklahoma Homemakers Association. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, growing flowers, lake trips, and traveling. Jo Ann and Vernon went every year for their anniversary to Branson and cherished their special time together. Jo Ann loved her family and her church – on Sunday’s - she was the first to arrive and the last to leave. She will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Foster of Elmore City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Anthony L. Foster and Amanda L. Foster; great-grandsons, Dalton Foster, Zack Davis, and Trey Davis; and by a host of family and friends
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, William Vernon Adams on February 3, 2022; son, William Vernon Adams, Jr.; son-in-law, Timothy Foster; granddaughter, Angela Adams; parents, Claude and Dalsie Brewer; brother, Claude “Sonny” Brewer, Jr.; sister, Mary Mantooth.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Elmore City First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
