Sharon Ann Hatter of Stratford, Oklahoma, was born August 2, 1943, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Bob and Alma (Jones) Byford. She peacefully passed away on February 16, 2022, at the age of seventy-eight years, six months and fourteen days.
Sharon lived in Stratford all of her life, and graduated in 1961 from Stratford High School. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Ruben Hatter, and they married December 21, 1961. They lived a wonderful life, and loved raising their three children together and going on camping and fishing trips.
She was one of the first few employees at Union Carbide, in Pauls Valley and stayed a hard working and loyal employee through many company changes until her retirement in 2008. After retirement, Sharon enjoyed her hobbies as a homemaker and flower gardener, especially growing roses. She took great pride and care in her flower gardens.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved and enjoyed her family dearly, all who affectionately called her Mom, Mom-Mom, Grandma, and Ma Hatter. She loved to spoil her grandchildren, and later great-grandchildren, keeping snacks on hand, especially honey-buns around at all times.
Sharon was a born again Christian, who was a faithful and active member of the Stratford Freewill Baptist Church.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Ruben Hatter.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories are: daughter, Cindy Johnson and husband, Jay; two sons, Randy Hatter and wife, Bobbie, Robbie Hatter and wife, Brielle, all of Stratford, Oklahoma; brother, Roy Byford and wife, Judy, of Stratford, Oklahoma; sister, Wendy Allen and husband, Eddie, of Ada, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Crystal Stanfield and husband, Jonathan, Andrea Shelton, Jessica York, Jaron Christian, Lacey Hatter, Randa Hatter and Rylee Hatter; five great-grandchildren, Kyzer McNew, Camon McNew, Jaxton Shelton, Finn Stanfield and Knox Gorrell.
Pallbearers were Jonathon Stanfield, Corey Byford, Kyler Byford, Jaron Christian, Kyzer McNew, Camon McNew, Jaxton Shelton and Finn Stanfield.
Honorary pall bearers included Jody Prince, Ricky Don Prince, Eric Stone and Waylon Cotanny.
The funeral services were held February 21, 2022, at Stratford Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Lewis Perry officiating. Interment followed at McGee Cemetery, Stratford, Oklahoma, under the direction of DeArman-Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford.
