TOMMIE IMOGENE MORTON GREEN

Tommie Imogene Morton Green of Maysville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the age of 88 years. She was born October 17, 1933, in Madill, Oklahoma to Ora and Hazel (Rushing) Phillips.

Imogene moved to Maysville when she was 15 years old. She met J. B. Morton and they were married on August 12, 1950, and to this union six children were born. After J. B. passed away in 1978, she met William “Bill” Green and they were married in June of 1980. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2018. She was a devoted homemaker who loved her family dearly and always enjoyed cooking for them. Imogene was the loudest mother in the stands at the ball games and a huge supporter of the FFA program. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and the church’s song leader for many, many years. Imogene was a faithful prayer warrior who loved music and singing, one of the many gifts the Lord had given her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Earl Morton and wife, Vickie, Huey Morton and wife, Pam, Curtis Morton and wife, Dana, Keith Morton and wife, Debbie, all of Maysville, and Connie Sanchez and husband, Robert, of Lampasas, Texas; a loving stepdaughter, Barbara Royal of Bethany, Oklahoma; a total of 53 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; plus numerous other relatives; sister, Janell McKee and husband, Bill, of Pauls Valley; brothers, Jim Phillips of Oklahoma City and David Phillips and his wife, Debbie, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Myron Phillips and Joyce Gay Phillips.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Hazel Phillips; husbands, J. B. Morton and William “Bill” Green; son, Karl Clayton “Skipper” Morton; great-grandson, Kolton Carter; and brothers, Calvin Phillips and Dennis Phillips

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the First Assembly of God Church, Maysville, with Bro. Johnny Tyler officiating. Burial followed in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com.
