Drivers hospitalized after collision on US Highway 77

A collision occurring approximately one mile south of Pauls Valley on U.S. Highway 77 on Feb. 9 resulted in the injury and air evacuation of two women.

Carolyn A. England, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, was traveling northbound on U.S. 77 at approximately 2:30 p.m. when her vehicle went left of center into the southbound lane of traffic.

Stephanie M. Taylor, of Pauls Valley, was traveling in the southbound lane and also went left of center in an attempt to avoid colliding with England’s vehicle. England corrected back into the northbound lane of traffic, striking Taylor’s vehicle head on.

Both women were transported from the scene in serious condition by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with trunk internal and head injuries.

Seatbelts were in use by all and airbags deployed in both vehicles.

The collision was investigated by Probationary Trooper Noe Martinez #491 of the Garvin/Murray County detachment of Troop F with assistance by Training Trooper Heath Green #901 of the Garvin/ Murray County detachment of Troop F, the Pauls Valley Police Department, Pauls Valley Fire Department, Air Evac and Garvin County EMS.
