Property tax payments accepted through Jan. 3

Garvin County property owners will have an extra day to pay their property taxes in-person this year due to the Garvin County Courthouse holiday schedule.

The deadline for property owners to pay at least the first half of their property taxes for the year is Friday, Dec. 31. However, because New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, the courthouse will be closed on Dec. 31 in observance of the holiday. Because of the closure,

Because of the closure, Garvin County Treasurer Sandy Goggans said her office is extending the deadline for those making firsthalf property tax payments in person by one business day. The Treasurer’s office will accept those payments without penalty through the end of the day Monday, Jan. 3.
