Garvin County 4-H students recently participated in the 2021 Impressive Dress Contest at the Garvin County Fairgrounds. The 4-H competition is designed to help members learn the skills needed to select garments appropriate for specific occasions and improve personal appearance.
As part of the contest, participating members choose an outfit and answer interview questions from judges, such as how to care for the outfit, why they chose the outfit, or what the purpose of the outfit is. The competition teaches members about consumerism and also prepares them for future interviews.
More than 20 members ranging in age from 8 to 18 entered this year’s contest in three age divisions.

Activewear - Jessi Harrell, Elmore City; Tinley Milligan, Pauls Valley; Katelynn Stanley, Elmore City; Charlee Cothren, Stratford; Baelor Johnson, Elmore City, Makynna Kesler, Maysville; Elise Beach, Maysville.
Casual Wear - Katelynn Stanley, Elmore City; Tinley Milligan, Pauls Valley.
Formal Wear - Addi Loriss, Elmore City; Elise Beach, Maysville; Makynna Kesler, Maysville.
The Junior Division Impressive Dress Champion was Katelynn Stanley of Elmore City, and the Junior Division Impressive Dress Reserve Champion was Tinley Milligan of Pauls Valley.
In the Intermediate Division winners were:
Dress Wear - Devin Stanley, Elmore City, Red Ribbon; Harli Johnson, Elmore City, Blue Ribbon; Ella Lister, Stratford, Blue Ribbon.
