Larry W. Miner, 69, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his home. He was born October 5, 1951, to John and Opal (Bourland) Miner in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Larry was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. After his military service he returned to Tecumseh, before moving to Stratford, Oklahoma, in 1974 where he lived until recently moving back to Tecumseh.
He married Cindy Schultz on October 14, 1977, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2014.
Larry retired as an Aircraft Mechanic from Tinker Air Force Base.
He was a jack of all trades in mechanics and carpentry and built his sister’s house. Larry enjoyed collecting junk and watching old western movies.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Miner; parents, John and Opal Miner, and brother, Gary Miner.
Survivors include his sons, Brandon Miner of Stratford, Oklahoma and Brent Miner also of Stratford; five grandchildren, Chris and Brook Baker, Tyler Miner, Spencer and McKenzie Fisher and Briley Miner and Brianna Miner; four great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Ellie Baker and Lincoln and Wrenlee Fisher; one sister, Brenda Carter of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Dub and Beverly Miner also of Tecumseh; and other extended family and friends.
Graveside services were held Thursday, September 2, 2021, at McGee Cemetery in Stratford, Oklahoma, with Bill Jones of the Stratford Church of Christ officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
