David Harvey Gower, Jr., of Maysville, was born July 7, 1941 in Maysville, Oklahoma, to David Harvey Gower and Ima Katherine (Degraffenried) Gower. He passed away Monday, August 23, 2021, in Lexington, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years.
David was a lifetime resident of Maysville and graduated from Maysville High School. After graduation he joined the U. S. Army where he served his country well. He loved his family and the time they spent together. David had worked at Burford Corp., Beaver Tool, Burnes Feed Mill, and finally as a Hwy 74 maintenance employee for the State of Oklahoma. He loved his job and socializing with his co-workers. He really enjoyed time spent visiting with people. David will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his son, Eugene Gower and wife, Shanda, of Lexington, Oklahoma; daughters, Pam Henderson and husband, Phillip, of Sulphur, Oklahoma and Tammy Roberts, also of Sulphur; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara Gower; brother, Iman Ray Gower; and sister, Barbara Gower.
Graveside services were held August 26, 2021, at the Maysville Cemetery with Bro. Troy Madden officiating. Burial was under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com.
