Lou E. Mayfield, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, was born to Thad and Mary Alice (Nichols) Morris on April 5, 1938, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on August 16, 2021, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years.
Lou grew up and attended school in Pauls Valley. On June 16, 1962, she married James “Jim” Mayfield at her home in Pauls Valley. Lou was a licensed beautician. She also worked for Walmart for 17 years and was instrumental in opening new stores for them. In her spare time, Lou enjoyed painting, crafts, and decorating. She was a member of Mother’s Club and the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mayfield is survived by her husband, Jim of the home; son, James Carlton Mayfield, Jr., and wife, Sarah, of Washington state; cousins, June Walden, James and Grace Randol, Kenneth and Beverly Randol, Lavell Dean and Lloyd Betcher and Jolly Barton Claxton; plus a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Trant officiating. Interment followed in the Mt.
