Margaret Louise Winchester, of Maysville, Oklahoma, was born October 15, 1941, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to George and Pearly (Caldwell) Lindsey. She passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in her home at the age of 79 years.
Margaret graduated from Wynnewood High School in 1959 and married Curtis Winchester on November 21, 1959 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. She was a wonderful mother and loving and devoted wife. She was very proud of her family, and tried to never miss an activity or event the children or grandchildren were involved in. Margaret loved cooking for her family and friends,(and took particular pride in baking her apple pies!). She was a member of the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Purcell, Oklahoma. She loved singing and helping her church family, and loved worshiping and studying God’s word. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Curtis, of the home; son, Richard Winchester and wife, Holly, and children, Jake, Mary Kate, and Gillian of Lakeway, Texas and son, Robert Winchester and wife, Kellie, and children, Olivia and Hayes of The Colony, Texas; siblings, Betty Boydston, Jim Lindsey, Mary Colson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearly Lindsey; son, Stephen Mark Winchester; and siblings, Georgia McCarty, David Lindsey, Billie June Oliver, Joe Lindsey, Sylvia Kraft, and Alfred Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Foundation of America or the charity of your choice in memory of Margaret Winchester.
Funeral services were held August 7, 2021 at the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Purcell, Oklahoma, with Elder Mike Hughes and Elder Phil Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Maysville Cemetery under the direction of John W. Williams of Winans Funeral Home, Maysville, Oklahoma. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.winansfuneralhome.com.
