Elmore City-Pernell advanced to the Class A Region 1 Tournament after winning their District Tournament.
Due to weather challenges, Regionals were played Tuesday and Wednesday at Thomas.
The Lady Badgers lost their opening game 11-0 to Arapaho-Butler. They kept going with a 6-2 win over Carnegie.
They played Davenport Wednesday (after press time). The winner of that game played Arapaho-Butler. Only the Regional Champion will advance.
ECP played District games Sept. 24 and 25 at Strother, where they went undefeated. The Badgers won 9-8 over Prue and 20-8 over Strother. Then, they won 13-0 over Strother.
Gentri Condit, Suzy Milligan and Josie Barnes had home runs in the first game against Strother. In the second game, Milligan had two home runs.
'They played good defense and ran bases aggressively, putting the pressure on both teams every inning,' said Coach Travis Jennings. 'Games are easy to coach when you have good players playing their best.'
