Elmore City hired a new police chief during the Sept. 8 regular city council meeting.
Following an executive session to discuss confirming the hire of Carl Zink as the town’s police chief, council members Paula Beene, Nathan Mullett and Brandon Johnson returned to open session and voted unanimously to approve Zink for the position.
