Sales tax collections were down in April for many communities in Garvin County, compared to the same period last year, according to the June distribution of sales tax collections report from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Garvin County also saw a slight increase over 2025.
Elmore City, Foster, Paoli and Pauls Valley all saw a dip in sales tax collections compared to the same period in 2025.
Use tax collections were largely up for Garvin County communities in April, with only Foster and Elmore City showing a decrease in use tax collections compared to the same period last year.
According to the Tax Commission, the disbursement of $209,344,927 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $ 8,316,071 from the $201,028,856 distributed to them in June last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $41,355,666.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $37,991,080 sales tax disbursement and $8,376,040 use tax disbursements.
The June 8, 2026, distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from April business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from April 16-30 and estimated sales from May 1-15
