Stratford woman killed, two others critically injured in crash east of Pauls Valley

A two-vehicle collision about five miles east of Pauls Valley Tuesday evening claimed the life of a Stratford woman and left two others critically injured. The collision occurred about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday on State Highway 19 just past five-mile curve at the junction with State Highway 133, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident involved a 2003 Honda Accord driven by 31-year-old Trever Brooks of Wynnewood and a 2008 Kia Forte driven by 48-year-old Jeremy Smith of Stratford. Both men were transported from the scene by Air Evac to an Oklahoma City hospital, where Brooks was admitted in critical condition with trunk internal injuries and Smith was admitted in critical condition with unknown injuries.

A passenger in Smith’s vehicle, 48-year-old Sheila Smith, of Stratford, was transported by Stratford EMS to the Purcell hospital, where she was pronounced dead due to massive injuries sustained in the collision.

Details about what caused the collision are still under investigation, according to OHP.
