Stratford resident named to Academic All-State Class

Vanoss High School senior and Stratford resident Wyatt Morris has been named to the 2026 Academic All-State Class by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.

The Academic All-State award recognizes 100 outstanding public high school seniors from across Oklahoma nominated for their exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and character. This year’s class represents students from 63 schools in 58 school districts across the state.

Students selected for this honor demonstrate excellence both in the classroom and in their schools and communities. For Morris, the recognition reflects years of hard work, dedication and involvement in nearly every area of student life. Throughout high school, he has built a record of academic success while also serving in numerous leadership roles. He has been active in Student Council, BPA, FFA, National Honor Society, and Academic Bowl, consistently balancing a demanding schedule with a commitment to excellence.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Morris has been recognized for his leadership and service, serving as president of multiple student organizations and representing his school and community through prestigious programs and honors. His selection as an Academic All-State student places him among an elite group of seniors statewide and highlights the impact he has made during his high school career.

Morris plans to attend Oklahoma State University, where he has already earned major honors including recognition as a Spears Scholar Leader, the President’s Distinguished Scholarship, and selection to the President’s Leadership Council. His future goals reflect the same drive and determination that helped him earn Academic All-State recognition.

Family, teachers, and community members have celebrated the achievement as a well-deserved honor for a student who has worked tirelessly to succeed. Morris’s recognition is not only a personal accomplishment, but also a point of pride for Vanoss High School and the entire community.

This is the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence’s 40th class of Academic All-State scholars. Since the program’s inception in 1987, 4,001 high school seniors from 345 school districts have been named Academic All-Staters.

This year’s class scored an average of 33 on the ACT, with nine honorees scoring a perfect 36. The students’ weighted average GPA was 4.36. Thirty-eight are semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Each All-Stater receives a $1,500 merit-based cash award, honor cord and a medallion. They will be recognized at the 40th annual Academic Awards Celebration May 2 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
