Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce President Nancy Runge has resigned to pursue a new opportunity. Runge has accepted a legislative assistant position with the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Her last day with the Chamber was July 22.
“As Chamber president I’ve met wonderful people and had valuable experiences,” Runge said. “I feel like I’m leaving a richer person for it.”
Runge has led the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce since January of 2021.
During that time, her accomplishments have included launching the Chamber’s first fully integrated member database, guiding the Pauls Valley Industrial Development Association and leading the Chamber to connect with the State Chamber to create a route so that its small businesses can offer affordable healthcare insurance to its employees.
Throughout her tenure in office, she has directed various popular events including the annual Chamber banquet, community forums for legislators, school officials and municipal candidates, golf tournaments and Boo on the Bricks.
“We thank Nancy for her tireless service to our community and wish her the very best,” Joe Don Looney, chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors, said in a statement released Monday by the Chamber’s Executive Board.
In Monday’s press release, the Executive Board said the Chamber office, 112 E. Paul Ave., will continue to be staffed Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. by Member Services Coordinator Steve Freeman, as the Chamber of Commerce navigates the transition in leadership.
