PV man facing felony charges in head-on collision that killed two, injured two others

Multiple felony charges have been filed against a Pauls Valley man who authorities say caused a head-on collision near Pauls Valley in October that killed two people, including a Paoli teen, and injured two others.

William Antonio Miranda, 29, was charged Feb. 7 with two counts of second-degree murder, or alternatively first-degree manslaughter, as well as two counts of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and causing a collision resulting in great bodily injury.

According to court records, Miranda was traveling southbound on US-77, less than a mile north of Pauls Valley, Oct. 4, 2024, when his vehicle crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle traveling northbound headon.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, Christopher Pierri, 39, of Oklahoma City, and a passenger, 15-year-old Makaila Myers-Hampton, of Paoli, died in the collision. Two 14-year-old passengers in Pierri’s vehicle sustained significant injuries, as did Miranda.

The collision was investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Division. Court records filed in the case allege blood drawn from Miranda the night of the collision showed his blood alcohol content to be .19%, more than double the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle.

Miranda was arraigned Feb. 7 in Garvin County District Court, where he entered a plea of not guilty and was released on a $250,000 bond.

Assistant District Attorney Corey Miner said this week he does not intend to make a plea offer in the case.
