Local residents filled sandbags at the PV Fire Station Wednesday afternoon as they prepared to protect their homes and businesses against potential flooding as rivers and creeks in the area were forecast to reach flood stage following heavy rainfall this week. The Washita River was expected to reach moderate flood stage near Lindsay and Pauls Valley late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, according to the National Water Predication Service.
