The Fifth Annual Christmas Cards for the Troops is currently set up at Hinkle’s Printing and Office Supply in Pauls Valley.
“This lets our troops know we appreciate what they are doing and that someone is thinking about them at Christmas,” said Tara Henley, store manager.
People are encouraged to write a blank card provided by Hinkle’s with a message to troops overseas. Hinkle’s will then ship the cards and care package items overseas.
Care package items needed are boot socks (black or brown), trail mix, beef jerky, snacks, soap, deodorant, Chapstick, Band-aids, moleskin foot pads, hand warmers, toboggan hat (black or brown only) and gloves (black or brown only). Any food items must be prepackaged and will not melt.
This year’s cards will be going to troops stationed in South Korea.
The deadline for cards and donations is Nov. 26.
