Lindsay Schools Band Program to host soup cook-off fundraiser

The Lindsay Public Schools Band Program is hosting its first Souper Bowl, a soup cook-off to raise funds for the bands.

The event is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 in the Lindsay Schools Cafeteria.

The cost to attend the event is $10 at the door. Attendees will be able to sample all the soups and cast their vote for the audience favorite.

The cost to enter the competition is $25. Contestants can enter one kind of soup per entry. Competitors must provide 16 quarts of soup (equivalent to two large Crockpots worth of soup) in a device that can keep it warm, plus their own serving utensils.

A trophy and cash prize will be awarded for the best soup.

The deadline to enter the cook-off is Monday, Nov. 18. To enter, email lindsaybands@ gmail.com. Entrants will receive confirmation of their submission.

Along with supporting the Lindsay Schools Band Program, the Souper Bowl will raise funds to help LHS senior trumpet section leader Gabriel McDonnell travel to Europe in summer 2025 to perform with the Oklahoma Ambassadors of Music.
