This week, Garvin County is joining the celebration of National 4-H Week, October 6–12. Across Oklahoma and the nation, 4-H members are showing what it means to “learn by doing” and make a difference in their communities.
To recognize the occasion, the 4-H flag will be flying proudly at the Garvin County Courthouse all week long, serving as a reminder of the positive influence 4-H has on youth and families across the county.
Oklahoma 4-H reaches more than 160,000 young people every year, helping them explore their interests through hands-on projects in areas like agriculture, science, health, and citizenship. Here in Garvin County, local 4-H’ers are busy leading service projects, showing livestock, building leadership skills, and representing our communities with pride.
“4-H gives our youth a place to grow, belong, and discover their potential,” said Melissa Koesler, Garvin County OSU Extension Director. “We’re so proud of the hard work and dedication our members and volunteers put into making a positive difference every day.”
