Kevin Driskill was appointed to fill a vacancy on the Pauls Valley City Council during a special meeting Monday evening.
Driskill will fill the remaining term for place 1 on the council, vacated by the resignation of Councilmember Amy Richey in April.
Councilmembers Jocelyn Rushing, Bonnie Meisel and Kahn Nirschl were unanimous in approving Driskill’s appointment to the board. Councilmember Jonathan Grimmett was not at Monday’s meeting.
Driskill has served on Pauls Valley’s planning and zoning board for more than 20 years and was one of three candidates to run for place 5 on the council in 2025, a seat now held by Nirschl.
The remaining term on Driskill’s place 1 seat will run through April 2027.
At the close of Monday’s meeting, Mayor Rushing welcomed Driskill to the board.
“I thank you for your willingness to serve,” Rushing said. “You will discover there are times when it’s fabulous, and there are times when you want to pull your hair out, but if you’re committed to it, we’ll work together and I look forward to us moving forward.”
