Davenport wins Paoli school board seat after filing unopposed

A vacant position on the Paoli School Board appears to have been filled this week without the need for a November election.

Jeff Davenport was the only candidate to declare his candidacy for the position during a three-day filing period that began Monday morning and closed Wednesday afternoon, according to a report from the Garvin County Election Board.

Davenport will fill the remainder of an unexpired term for office 2 on Paoli’s Board of Education. The position was vacated earlier this year by the resignation of a board member who moved out of the school district and was no longer eligible to serve.
