Co-Parenting for Resilience class offered Feb. 11

OSU Extension will offer its next Co-Parenting for Resilience class Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The class is designed to equip participants with tools to navigate the divorce process and help their children overcome the effects of divorce more quickly.

Participants will learn how to develop an effective coparenting plan, gain an understanding of the emotions and experiences of each person involved in the divorce, and develop skills to manage conflict with their co-parent. Free Tai Chi Class offered through April at Nora Sparks Warren Library

There will be a Tai Chi Moving for Better Balance class from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 3 - April 23, at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley. Teen Calm and Focus Yoga class offered Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m.

A free, Calm and Focus Yoga class for ages 13-18 will be offered at Pauls Valley’s Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. The class will run from Feb. 4 to May 20, and parental consent is required. The gentle, non-competitive and welcoming yoga class is specifically designed for teens who do not find health related classes in their education system that meet their needs. Teens will learn techniques to manage anxiety, cultivate focus and improve physical movement in a safe, non-judgmental space. Students will be encouraged to listen to their own bodies and progress at their own pace. Perfect for teens seeking a peaceful escape from daily stress, this class supports emotional and physical well-being and a space to have fun and connect with others. Garvin County OHCE to host ‘Sourdough & More’ leader lesson, Feb. 19

Join the Garvin County OHCE for February's Leader Lesson, “Sourdough & More,” taught by McClain County FCS Educator Connie Wollenberg. Sourdough is one of the most ancient forms of bread. It is a slow-fermented bread that produces its own leavening agent.

Wollenberg will provide information on the health benefits of sourdough and explain why it is all the rage.

The lesson is free and open to the public and will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley.

Drive thru vaccine and microchip clinic for pets, Feb. 28

Garvin County 4H and Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society are sponsoring a low-cost, drive-thru vaccine and microchip clinic for pets, Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Garvin County Fair Grounds. Three local veterinarians, Carolyn Williams, Shawna McCune and Jacob Gollihare, will be onsite offering vaccines for a penny each, microchips for $5, penny collars and leashes, and muzzles if needed. Garvin County Democrats to hold monthly meeting Feb. 7

The Garvin County Democrat Party will meet Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. in the Nora Sparks Warren Library conference room, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley. Arnold Hamilton, editor of the Oklahoma Observer, will be the guest speaker. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend.

Free intermediate Yoga Class with Mylee Jones offered at PV Library

A free Vinyasa Flow Yoga class by Mylee Jones will be offered Mondays at 6 p.m. at the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow St., in Pauls Valley. The class will run through May 18, and is a dynamic intermediate class, catering to individuals with a foundation in yoga who are seeking to deepen their practice. Each class will incorporate underlying yoga principles, including attachment, surrender and stillness in discomfort concepts. The class is not suitable for beginners. Missoula Children’s Theatre to present ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in Pauls Valley Feb. 16-21

The Missoula Children’s Theatre Red Truck Tour will be in Pauls Valley Feb. 16-21. The traveling theatre residency program, which is staging its 30th annual performance in Pauls Valley this year, will present a full musical production of “Sleeping Beauty,” from auditions to performances, with a cast of local students in the span of a week. Open auditions for public school and home school students in the Pauls Valley and Whitebead school districts will be Monday, Feb. 16, from 3:45-5:45 p.m. at the Bosa Community Center, 207 Bosa Ave.

Public performances will be Friday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Pauls Valley High School Auditorium. Admission is free, and donations are welcomed.
