Santa’s Gift Shop at Maysville Library, Dec. 11-12
Santa’s Gift Shop at the Maysville Public Library will be Dec. 11-12, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. There will be a wide assortment of gifts including ornaments, pillows, jewelry, handmade items, and toys. Many items start at $1. Save time, save gas, and do your Christmas shopping here. Santa’s Gift Shop is open to the public, and everyone is welcome.
The library is also in need of donated small gift items for the gift shop’s Santa Buck Tables, which provide a place for local school children to shop for gifts to give. For more information contact the Maysville Library at 405-867-5850.
Resilient Wynnewood and Neighbors in Need partner to offer Free Pop-Up Shop, Nov. 29
A Free Pop-Up Shop will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Wynnewood Senior Center.
This event, organized by Resilient Wynnewood and Neighbors in Need, will be a “shopping style” donation distribution. Families will be able to select from the available items at no cost to meet their specific family needs.
Donations for the event are also being collected at Spirit Liquor Store, Wynnewood Public Library, Delbert’s Supermarket and Simmons Bank through Nov. 28.
Items needed include packed and sealed food and drinks, baby care items, personal hygiene items, laundry and dish soap, cleaning supplies and everyday kitchen tools like can openers, plasticware and measuring cups.
Monetary donations are also being accepted for purchasing needed items.
Pauls Valley Depot Museum closed temporarily
The Pauls Valley Depot Museum will be continue to be closed off and on while railroad contractors remove the sidewalk behind the depot. The target date for completion is Dec. 1. For more information, call 405-2382244 and leave a message, or call Lorraine at 405-2070068.
Applications available for Christmas in Maysville food baskets
Application forms for Christmas in Maysville food baskets for Maysville residents in need are now available. Applications can be picked up at Jack’s Pharmacy, 500 Williams St., or the Maysville Public Library, 506 Williams St. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, Dec. 14. Food baskets will be available for pickup Friday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m to noon at Abundant Love Fellowship, 1005 12th St., in Maysville. Deliveries will be made the same day. PV library to host Merry Mondays in December
Monday afternoons in December the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 201 N. Willow St. in Pauls Valley, will be showing family friendly movies with popcorn and hot chocolate. Movies will start at 3:45 p.m. For more information contact the library at 405-238-5188.
ECP Christmas Movie Night, Nov. 29
The Elmore City-Pernell Junior Class After Prom committee will host a Christmas Movie Night fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 29, beginning at 6 p.m. at Wheeler Field. Everyone is invited to bring blankets and chairs, wear your favorite Christmas sweater, take advantage of the photo ops and enjoy a cozy evening together.
Tickets are $3 and concessions are $1. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the school cafeteria.
Christmas at the Murray-Lindsay Mansion, Dec. 7
Christmas at the Mansion will be held Sunday, Dec. 7, from 1-4 p.m. in the historic 1878 Murray Lindsay Mansion and 1908 Pikes Peak School. Bring the family to visit this beautifully decorated Mansion and meet Santa. Enjoy cookies, punch and a fun holiday activity while you take in the festive atmosphere. The Murray Lindsay Mansion and Pikes Peak School are at 13031 N. County Road 3025 in Erin Springs, two miles south of Lindsay.
American Sign Language Conversation at Stratford library, Dec. 2
Chandler-Watts Library will host ASL Conversation with Candy Fields at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2.

Nora Sparks Warren Library to host first Artifact Identification Day, Dec. 13
Area residents are invited to bring their fossils, artifacts, rocks and minerals to the Nora Sparks Warren Library, 201 N. Willow St. in Pauls Valley, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library will have Oklahoma Geological Survey geologists and local avocational archeologists on-hand to help identify items and provide insight into the history connected to them and hands on education. The family friendly event is free, open to the public and no registration is required.
Antioch First Tuesday Luncheon is Dec. 2
The Antioch First Tuesday Luncheon will be Tuesday, Dec. 2, at noon at the Antioch School/Senior Center.

Group searching for past Wiley Post Festival T-shirts
A group of Maysville quilters is asking for donations of Wiley Post Festival T-shirts from previous years. The shirts will be used to make quilts the group plans to put up for auction at next year’s Wiley Post Festival as a fundraiser for the Maysville library. TOPS Club meetings offer weight-loss education and support at NEW location
Pauls Valley TOPS Club Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets Mondays at 4 p.m. Starting Nov. 24 TOPS will meet at the First Church of God, 414 N. Chickasaw St.
TOPS offers an individual approach to weight loss and overall wellness. Members learn about nutrition, portion control, meal planning and exercise at the weekly meetings. Consistent group support, health education and recognition are all key components to successful weight management.
