Eskridge Hotel to mark 115th anniversary

The Wynnewood Historical Society invites everyone to join them from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday for fellowship and celebration at the Eskridge Hotel and Museum as they commemorate the 115th anniversary of the “finest hotel between Fort Worth and Oklahoma City.” Enjoy exhibits on historic homes, street name origins and more. There will be face painting, drawings for prizes, plus cake and punch! You’re invited to come and learn more about the community’s history.

First Baptist Church to host Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner

The First Baptist Church of Elmore City will be hosting their 23rd Annual FREE Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday, November 16, from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Antioch Thanksgiving Dinner scheduled for Nov. 12

The annual Antioch Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at the Antioch School-Sr. Center on Saturday, November 12, at 6:00 p.m. This has become a tradition for friends and families of the Antioch Community for many years, and is always held on the second Saturday of November. The meats and dressing will be furnished, your favorite holiday sides and deserts will be appreciated. Everyone is welcome. Antioch Church announces hours of worship

The Antioch Church, formerly known as the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, would like to announce their hours of worship and invite the area to come meet their new pastor, Jimmy Balentine. The church holds worship Sundays at 11 a.m., with prayer meeting at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to come worship with the Antioch Church.

Free yoga and Tai Chi classes at Pauls Valley library

The Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow, in Pauls Valley is offering free Yoga for Everyone classes with instructor Mylee Jones from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Mondays through December 19 (there will be no class on Nov. 14). Tai Chi for Better Balance classes are also being offered for seniors, free of charge, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. through Nov. 2 in the library auditorium.

Pauls Valley Angel Tree ready for adoptions

The Nora Sparks Warren Library, 210 N. Willow, in Pauls Valley is now offering angels from the 2022 Angel Tree for adoption. Those interested in helping to provide Christmas for area children can pick up angels at the library during normal library hours. For more information call the library at 405-238-5188.

Storytelling at Pikes Peak School Museum

Stories of real people’s lives present and past will be told at the Pikes Peak School Museum on the second Sunday of each month. Marian Cunningham will present the facts of a story she knows of people who lived with importance to the local communities surrounding Lindsay.

The next presentation is November 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. Take the opportunity to enjoy storytelling at it’s best and bring your story to share too.

Pauls Valley Historical Society meeting, Nov. 20

The Pauls Valley Historical Society will hold its next meeting Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Santa Fe Depot Museum, 204 S. Santa Fe. Everyone is invited to attend. The meeting will be about upcoming events and plans for 2023. After the meeting those wanting to help will be decorating the Depot for Christmas.
