City council and town board races take shape as filing period wraps up

Candidates from across the county this week declared their intention to run for municipal office in their respective communities later this spring.

Many of those positions were won without an election this week, when only one candidate filed for the position. A handful of others will appear on municipal election ballots April 1.

Those who declared their candidacy for office during the three-day filing period that ended Wednesday are:

• Elmore City Council, Ward 1, Brandon Johnson;

• Elmore City Council, Ward 3, Julie Hardy and Nathan Mullett;

• Elmore City clerk-treasurer, Lisa Rollings;

• Elmore City mayor, Nicolette Haner; • Elmore City city marshal, no candidate filed;

• Elmore City street commissioner, no candidate filed;

• Lindsay City Council (four positions), Mark Hall, Don Lough, Joshua Miller and Vern Roe;

• Maysville Town Board of Trustees (three positions), Joy Taylor, Eric S. Cateman Sr., Louise P. Jones, Kevin Kappes;

• Maysville city clerk-treasurer (two-year unexpired term), Dorothy Smith;

• Paoli Town Board of Trustees (two positions, four-year term), Bryan Campbell, Kevin Maloy and Brian Pearson;

•Paoli Town Board of Trustees (one position for two-year unexpired term), Justin Hutchings;

• Pauls Valley Council, place 4, Bonnie Meisel and Matthew Huggans;

• Pauls Valley Council, place 5, Kevin Driskell, Kahn Nirschl and Jeff Satterlee;

• Pauls Valley Council, place 1 (two-year unexpired term), April Brown and Amy Richey;

• Stratford Town Board of Trustees (two positions), Johnny Mann and David Sanders;

• Stratford town treasurer, Shelly Hatter;

• Wynnewood City Council, Ward 1, Vicki Motes;

• Wynnewood City Council, Ward 2, Chad Dotson;

• Wynnewood City Council, Ward 3, James M. Allen;

• Wynnewood City Council, Ward 4, Bob Anderson;

• Wynnewood City Council, Ward 2 (twoyear unexpired term), Tonya Munn and Kaleb B. Patchell;

• Wynnewood city clerk-treasurer, Jokori Taylor;

• Wynnewood city street commissioner (two-year unexpired term), Chris D. Smith.

Candidates have until Friday, Feb. 7, to withdraw their candidacy or contest an opponent’s candidacy.
