Antioch ABC OHCE February club minutes

Six Antioch ABC club members met at the Antioch Community Center Feb. 16, for the regular monthly meeting. Those present were Chestine Box, Lisa Brown, Ron Endler, Joy Pyle, Becky Armstrong and Carol Darrow.

Our president, Chestine Box, shared a thought for the day that encouraged us all to think about what we would miss the most if we lost our homes. We were reminded that it's all just stuff and if we wish to pass things on to family or friends, do it while you can.

Four members, Chestine Box, Ron Endler, Gayla Ezzell and Becky Armstrong have registered to attend the OHCE District meeting in McAlester, Oklahoma, on March 10. If you would like to attend but did not get registered, call Chestine.

Thank you Gayla Ezzell for volunteering to temporarily fill in as treasurer while Jeanne Rowlet is out recuperating from surgery.

The lesson, given by Ron Endler, was the “History of Route 66.” Ron was the perfect person to teach this lesson because he had driven the route numerous times in his life. The highway started in 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, where Ron is originally from, and it ends in Los Angeles, California. It was originally known as the Mother Road. This year the highway is 100 years old.

The next Antioch Community free lunch will be Tuesday, March 3, at noon.

Our next club meeting will be Monday, March 15. We hope to see you there.
