Abbott House Child Advocacy Center is inviting the community to come together for an evening of great food, fellowship and purpose at Boots & BBQ, a fundraising event Thursday, July 30, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Garvin County Fairgrounds.
The event will raise critical funds to support children and families impacted by abuse throughout Garvin County and surrounding communities. Guests will enjoy a barbecue dinner while learning how their support directly impacts local children receiving advocacy, medical services and forensic interviews during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Keynote speakers include Abbott House Executive Director Kylie Turner and Garvin County Sheriff Jim Mullett.
Since opening its Garvin County office in August 2024 Abbott House Child Advocacy Center has experienced an overwhelming need for services. In less than two years the center has conducted 207 forensic interviews, provided 111 specialized medical examinations and delivered 380 family advocacy sessions, ensuring children and caregivers receive compassionate support and guidance throughout the healing process.
“Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported,” said Selena Ordaz, Development Coordinator for Abbott House Child Advocacy Center. “The generosity of our community allows us to provide life-changing services at no cost to families. Boots & BBQ is an opportunity for neighbors, businesses and community leaders to come together and invest in the future of children right here in our own communities.”
In addition to individual tickets, Abbott House is seeking local businesses and organizations to partner as event sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities range from $300 Table Sponsors to $5,000 Presenting Sponsors, with recognition opportunities that include event signage, marketing materials, social media, website recognition, and reserved seating.
Every dollar raised helps provide forensic interviews, family advocacy, medical resources, and coordinated services that reduce trauma and give children the opportunity to begin healing in a safe, child-focused environment.
Individual tickets are $40 and are available now. Community members, civic organizations, and businesses are encouraged to attend, sponsor a table, or become an event sponsor to help make a lasting difference in the lives of local children.
