The pandemic has wreaked havoc on hospital budgets and the nursing workforce in Oklahoma, medical professionals told members of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Nurses are in such high demand nationwide that nurses willing to travel to work on short-term contract are currently commanding $165 an hour, which hospitals are scrambling to find a way to pay.
